The advantages and disadvantages of hydraulic and pneumatic system designs are discussed in this PDF. Both types of systems can be used for various applications. The advantages of hydraulic systems are the low costs and simple design. The main difference between hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems is their pressure. Hydraulic systems require high pressure to move heavy loads, while pneumatic systems need low pressure to move small objects. Pneumatic systems are generally preferred in clean rooms, pharmaceutical laboratories, food and beverage industries. On the other hand, hydraulic systems are generally off limits in these environments.

The hydraulic system is larger than the pneumatic system, but it is more powerful. It uses more pressure to move the fluid, which makes it more expensive. The hydraulic system also needs a separate storage tank. The oil is viscous, and needs more energy to move through the pipes. Because of this, hydraulic systems are more expensive than pneumatic systems. They also produce more noise than pneumatic systems, so they may not be the best choice for sensitive applications.

The benefits of pneumatic systems over hydraulic ones are similar. Pneumatic systems can accelerate and decelerate, stop and reverse. The advantages of pneumatic systems over hydraulic systems include ease of use, versatility, and safety. Hydraulic systems can be used in a variety of applications, including under water. Besides, they are also easier to maintain and upgrade. These systems are also easy to use and can be found in almost any industry.
